Welcome to Doula Eden Amali!

My name is Ayse Yufkayürek. I would like to introduce myself shorty and tell you a little bit about the journey that lead me to become a Doula.

Born and raised in Germany, I have always enjoyed spending times in diverse countries and cultures. Following a conventional career, I set off to the U.K. in 2005. However, in late 2010, I left my job in London and began travelling throughout Asia. While being in India for a yoga training, I explored basic yet profound principles of a wholesome spiritual living concept, which is marking the foundation of my work as a Doula.

My journey into Birth Work really started 2014 while I was in India, ready to continue my studies of yoga philosophy and practice. Maybe for this reason, the obstetrician asked me, if I can appreciate what I see pointing at the ultrasound screen, where I could clearly see a pulsation. At once, all fell into place for me, rescinding my plans in India, I set en route into motherhood.

Thanks to my obstetrician in Istanbul, Dr. Hakan Coker, I got introduced to the concept of Doula. Though we did not end up birthing together with him, as I went to Germany for delivery, the thought of studying to become a Doula and integrating parts of the yoga, spiritual practices and Ayurveda into it, took shape and was finally realised in 2015, while pregnant with my 2nd child. My Trainer was Robyn Sheldon, Midwife turned Doula in South Africa at DOUM in Istanbul, where I also trained on Pregnancy Yoga.

Later on, I sought to foster my knowledge of Ayurveda, so the decision to labour our second child at home in India with an independent midwife, Suyai Steinhaur, was second to none natural to me. And so we had a wonderful water birth that inspired me to further train and certify with Barbara Harper on Waterbirth education in 2019.

In both, my hospital birth and surely even more so in my homebirth, I trusted my body and knew it was capable to do the necessary to birth my baby, who will surely find her way naturally, in its own time and on its own terms.
The experience at my births were so influential and inspiring, but unfortunately it is far from what other women are experiencing. An informed, natural and fearless birth is not the Status Quo.

I believe every woman has the right to labour and birth the way she chooses to. You just need to become aware that you have a say. In order to have a true choice, it requires some education and practice, so you can make an informed decision and are prepared with some methods and techniques.

This is why I have created this platform, to share useful information, offer exchange and further guidance as a birth and postpartum Doula.

I hope you enjoy this website, please do get in touch for any questions.

As a Doula, Yoga Instructor and Mother myself, I provide you with relevant information and practices during your pregnancy, so your body and mind is prepared for the kind of birth you would like to plan for.

I help you to access our innate wisdom, so that you trust to birth Your baby naturally and create a memorable experience!
